Internet Explorer Problems in Windows7

Sep 10, 2010 12:51AM PDT

I appear to have lostIE in Windows7. It is not listed in Control Panel.

My Start Menu is intact, but without their individual symbols, just the "E". I cannot link from this and several programmes, including Internet Explorer has ink. against it.

Could somebody tell me what has happened please.

Thanks.

- A link to IE in Control Panel? Never seen that.
- What do you mean with "without their individual symbols, just the 'E'"?
- What do you mean "I cannot link from this and several programmes"?
- What do you mean with "ink. against it"?

Is the program still present in its folder in Program Files? And you run it by typing iexplore?

Internet Explorer problem in Windows7

Thank-you.

Yes I can now access IE through C,Programme Files. However, my Start items are listed but will not work they have this "ink" next to each one and will not open, for example "Internet Explorer 64bit ink". Also my Taskbar which was located along the bottom of the screen which displayed IE64 and IE32 (and others for easy access) has also
gone.

How do I get the Taskbars back to normal?

If SKS can help it would be much appreciated.

Re: .lnk

A .lnk file (short for link) is a shortcut. If a shortcut doesn't work for some reason, try making a new one on the desktop to see if it's a general problem with shortcuts or just with this particular one. If shortcut's to exe-files don't work at all, it's a problem with a bad registry setting or so, far wider than just IE.

Problem with Windows7 & IE

Hello again.
None of the links with "Ink" next to them work, but exe does.

Would it be harmful in any way if I did a System Restore?.

I should perhaps mention that a recent addition in the past couple of
weeks is Firefox. I downloaded this because Internet Explorer frequently told me "Internet Explorer Not Responding" and will close.

Lnk Problem in Windows7
Sep 12, 2010 4:07AM PDT

Hello Kees.
I downloaded your suggested site, but it would not let me open it. I found a similar programme online, same thing, tried everything after downloading but would not open.

However, having lost Windows Media Player completely, (it had seemed) I attempted to re-download, no could not do so because I already had it!

I searched again, as I have many times, and up it popped along with everything else. I then proceeded to clear the desktop manually of all the Lnk Associations but I only needed to do a few and everything
cleared. Perhaps it was the un-opened Associations File just sitting in C Drive. Ipar13
