Internet Explorer- Non Responsive Error

by sanda / June 10, 2004 9:51 PM PDT

Help!!! I have had internet explorer shut down on me while I was on a site or shortly after I log on. I get a box that pops up saying there is a problem and then it asks if I want to send a report. I have been responding with a yes but the problem keeps happening at least 3 times a day.
What is causing this and how can it be stopped?
I have explorer 6.0 and windows XP

IE 6.0 has load of bugs what you need to do is update ie 6.0 with the service pack, then theres is a patch for the service pack. there is a program called BIGFIX that sit in you task bar and check you windows for proplem and updates them atuomatical but make sure you subcribe to the windows xp subscrition so that they know what updates to send you. IE 5.5 is tryed and tested and words fine if anything try updating your browser and use opera or netscape.

IE 5.5 is now exploitable.
by R. Proffitt Forum moderator / June 10, 2004 11:12 PM PDT

Please avoid IE 5.5. Here's why. If you recall, Microsoft had a "code leak" recently. The first exploit as a result of this was an exploit of IE/OE 5.5

Your statement needs to be updated.

As to the issue at hand, YES, there are many unresolved issues in many browsers. IE gets the brunt of the impact because it is THE target.

My advice is still "Move out of the line of fire between malware writers and Microsoft. Use another browser when you can."
