Internet Explorer, Netscape

Jul 1, 2004 3:28AM PDT

This is my problem: I use Internet Explorer 6.0. After I have been on line for just 3 minutes, I can no longer access any web site. I get the message "this page is not available". Meanwhile, I still have my Netzero internet connection. I try Netscape Navigator. I have the same problem. Please, help me.

Your post is very light on details. No OS mentioned and more.

In short, is the machine free from parasites? Read http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/

And try this. Remove the case cover to sniff out if it's a heat issue.

"I use Win XP PRO"

But apparently for 3 minutes at a time. How did that case cover test turn out?

Any more clues?

The case cover is cool. And, also, I could access any other website before my 3 minutes were up. In fact, I started writing this message with IE then I could not post it. I was forced to Navigator. I don't know how much longer I can stay online.

Where do we go?

Its your choice on the matter, but I offer such tests to give direction and insight into the issue. If you don't then I can't add weight to one troubleshooting direction or the other.

This is much like long distance troubleshooting (and is.) If removing the case cover and seeing if the minutes go up or no change is too much trouble, just write so. I'd rather not guess.

And what about the pest scan?

I re-read the dialog and you also didn't tell if you found any pests. The issue of spyware is now one that can't be ignored. Many think that Norton or their antivirus is all that's needed. Please visit the Security Forum to ask if that's true.

Do you mean that you are able to access any website BEFORE the 3 minutes are up ???? Are you able to 'ping' the sites after that ?

I did empty the cache. I don't know what program to use to check for pests and spyware.
