Question

Internet Explorer History Constantly Empty

Jan 9, 2012 1:39AM PST

For the last week or so, my Internet Explorer browser history has been showing as virtually empty no matter how many websites I visit. This was never a problem before, and I've had this computer for three years or so.

One site suggested I download a Malware detector, which I did, and a few sites did show in history afterwards (but only 3 or 4) and after that it went back to deleting everything.

Any suggestions?

Answer
Since IE has a setting to clean it when you close IE

I didn't read where you checked that setting.

"Clear History" option

I will double-check this when I get home, but I'm fairly certain that setting is not activated. As I said earlier, this is a recent development on a computer I've had for years.

There are issues with that browser.

I don't want to duplicate prior discussions so be sure to turn it on, exit IE, start IE, turn it, just like we do with other odd things in Windows.

There are folk that will write "it worked for years" and not flip the setting on and off but we know those folk often end up reloading the OS rather than try such things.
