Internet Explorer Desktop Icon

Oct 18, 2004 4:09AM PDT

I am using Windows XP Home (SP1). My Internet Explorer icon on the desktop seems to have a plus sign next to it (not an arrow). I can use it to surf the Internet, but when I open IE using this icon, I can only have one open at a time. It will not let me open it more than once at the same time. Anyone have any ideas why this might be? Thanks!

Tjhutchings,

Right click>properties and share what the field 'path' contains. That's the command being run to start IE, and it should be a big clue to the answer to your question.

It won't be difficult, I assume, to make a new shortcut (with an arrow, maybe) without this limitation. Or try copy (drag and drop with ctrl pressed) from quick launch area.

I knew it would be easy to put a new shortcut on the desktop, but it didn't occur to me to check the path on the malfunctioning one. Thanks.
