Does the IE window open at all?

If so, what happens then? Normally a Home Page is connected to and dispayed. What is your normal Home Page and what is displayed when you open IE? What error messages if any? Exact wording of error messages please.

What happens when you type a web site name in the address bar and press Enter on the keyboard? Try it for www.google.com or www.cnet.com and say what you see.

More often than not problems with IE can be traced back to add-ons, so if IE is not working at all, go to;

Start > All programs > Accessories > System Tools, then open "Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)". When that works, can you go to web sites? If so, the problem is with add-ons so you can disable all of them, then add them back in one at a time and test to find the problem one.

This should get you back to IE7, but I am guessing that the same problem will be there.

Have you run your anti-virus and all your anti-malware scans?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
