It can't be deleted.

But you can Reset it back to default.

In IE8 goto Tools > Internet Options, then the Advanced tab. Click the Reset button and follow the instructions.

You will lose everything, favorites, cookies, history, any web site login/password details that IE has stored. But you seem prepared for that.

If you delete IE8 from Control Panel ...

the system will return to IE7. But, depending on the cause of your troubles, that isn't guaranteed to solve them.

Internet Explorer 6 - 7 - 8 Why use it?
Jul 2, 2010 10:27AM PDT

I NEVER use internet explorer at all, try using Mozilla Firefox 3.6.6.
There are far better web browsers freely available than internet explorer, Firefox is way more secure and faster than internet explorer, should any problems arise with Firefox, Mozilla issue updates within a couple of days, whereas microsoft can take many months to update as indicated here see; http://secunia.com/advisories/24314/
Description
Stefan Esser has discovered a vulnerability in Internet Explorer, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

The vulnerability exists because pages that don't specify a charset inherit the charset of the parent page. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of certain sites that are included e.g. via iframes in a malicious page that uses UTF-7 as charset.

Successful exploitation requires that the user is tricked into visiting a malicious web site.

The vulnerability is confirmed in Internet Explorer 7 and 8 on a fully patched Windows XP. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution
Do not browse untrusted sites.

This has been showing up for around 12 months now with NO fix from microsoft.

No Wonder You're So Concerned About Vulnerabilities...
Jul 2, 2010 11:29PM PDT

Since you NEVER use Internet Explorer, you obviously NEVER update your OS with the security patches.

That's not true.

Automatic updates run automatically, without need for the user to go into Internet Explorer.

You Are Absolutely Correct.

Its been a long time since I've set updates to run automatically, and I forgot that. I always do mine manually.... sometimes the "cure" is worse than the "vulnerabilities" (not really). And I'd rather control the reboots.

Might be some crazy tool-bar;
Jul 3, 2010 11:54PM PDT

1. Go to extra/options/erase or delete history.
2. State Startpage-blank
3. erase all old info like cookies &&
4. Close internet E8
5. use the starprogram for 'regedit'
6. Go to the top of the register: This computer
7. Search for eg things like 'kiwee'
8. Just delete the name of these keys, not those numbers.
9. But do delete the allowed domain 'kiwee.com'
10 Stop and disable weird services, like 'ask' or 'kiwee'.
11. They are found under right-click my computer and manage and services.
12. Restart windows search and keep away from toolbars unlike google or live.

Alternatively use something like ccleaner and download the it-network install of ie8, remove that ie8 software thru software tab of the config-screen.

Now your ready to re-install the network-ie8. ♥ A.

Just a note.
Jul 4, 2010 12:03AM PDT

There is little in your list that makes any sense.

EG: Use the starprogram for 'regedit'. What is "starprogram", and what does he do with regedit when he gets there?

EG2: Go to the top of the register. This computer. What is this register?

I could go on.
