Firefox and IE8
by mopscare42 / March 25, 2009 11:03 AM PDT

I downloaded and installed IE8 and so far have not had any problems.
It just takes a little time to get familiar with the new layout.
I am using Vista home premium.
I was using Firefox and had too many can't be displayed or time outs so tried IE8, I don't have that problem now so removed FF and using only IE8.
Much better than IE7.

I too installed Firefox but I keep going back to IE7 with less and less probs. Maybe I'll try for IE8 again later. Good Luck!

I just read above link. I believe I'll wait a bit and hang on to FF for now.

Read the link again and someone was kind enough to share a discovered fix.

Odd that Microsoft shipped it this way.

Last time I checked (earlier today) IE8 was "not compatible with my system", windows vista home premium. Sorry I don't remember link telling me that. I get alot of not yet compatible as I'm sure you have been. STAY AWAY from 3rd party utilities for now
or be ready for some unpleasant surprises. Good Luck.. it's typical MS stuff. We are the guinea pigs for all new releases. Thats how they refine their products. But I'm used to it and still swear by Microsoft. Give it a little time. I keep trying stuff. Usually able to work my way out of some bad situations and giving feedback to MS. That's the reality of it. Give it a little time. Good Luck!
