Can you explain your issue a little bit better?

If I click Favorites in the menu bar, I get a long drop down list to choose from. And if I go and do something else, like drinking a cup of coffee, and I return and click Favorites in the menu bar again, the list still comes up.
So I had a good cup of coffee, but I was unable to reproduce your problem.

I will try, on 6 you would leave to a different site and when you return the favorites would be there and now they disappear until you click the star by the favorites list Thank You

I never used the favorites that way, only from the menu bar. So I see that IE7 behaves as you describes, and I have to believe you if you say IE6 was different. I think that's just one of the changes in this version Microsoft found useful (and you don't), and not configurable.

Things to try:
1. Get used to it.
2. Go back to IE6
3. Install another browser called Firefox and see if you like the workings of ctrl-B (or View>Sidebar>Bookmarks). It toggles a PERMANENT list of your favorites (called bookmarks in that program) on the left side of your screen. It's not very useful if your screen is 800x600, but if you happen to have a 15.4" laptop screen you might love it.
