without knowing more details, about all i can suggest is to make sure that you have applied all critical updates from Microsoft.

Why did it only show the first sentence of my post. When I reviewed my message it showed everything?

Anyway, I'll try again, it tends to only happen after a lot of activity, especially (but not always) the use of the Maximizer CRM software.

Basically, IE opens but you do not see the progress bar. You can type in any website, but this is what happens.

Then if I reboot it works again for awhile.

Sorry if it seemed like an extremely simple post.

i think that something in IE is still trying to run and nothing is happening. have you scanned for adware and spyware on your system? this is the most common cause. you need to run 3 or 4 different scanners as no one scanner catches them all. while you are at it, you might as well run an up-to-date virus scan. if you Ctrl-Alt-Del and look in Task Manager, is IE running and using up CPU?

What spyware scanners do you recommend? I tried the one that is part of and it didn't find anything.

I did do all the other things you suggested (i.e. virus scan) and nothing came up.

you need to head over to the security and virus forum to get a good list. with ads and such, you need to run more than one. also, running a different virus scanner would not hurt. if you look in Task Manager, do you see Internet Explorer taking up a lot of CPU?
