"Internet Everywhere" Has Stopped Working

Jul 7, 2010 7:40AM PDT

Acer Aspire 7540 running windows 7 64 bit.
Option 515m dongle.

Up until about a week ago this worked fine. In fact, it was faster than anything I'd had before, although it sometimes used to get quite warm.

Then it started displaying the message "Internet Everywhere has stopped working" every now and then.

For the past two days, every time I try to connect the same message appears.

Help!

I've tried cleaning the sim, uninstalling the software, rolling back the drivers, reinstalling the software, downloading and installing the latest software from the Orange website and nothing works. Same message appears every time.

I've searched all over the web for an answer but haven't found anyone with the same problem.

My only option would be to call Orange but it keeps asking for my Orange telephone number - and I don't have one!

Fix - "Internet Everywhere" Has Stopped Working
Jul 9, 2010 5:49PM PDT

Hi,

I also had the same problem and tried all the things you mentioned and eventually did a system restore to about 1st July and now it works perfectly, so some update or another has caused the conflict in the Internet everywhere software.

So try a system restore to at least 1 week back and see if that resolves your issue.
Cheers

sAME PROBLEM.

I have the same problem. tried a system restore a few days ago n solved problem but now has once again ceased to work. thats on my laptop, it still works fine on desktop. My desktop runs on vista as opposed to my laptop that runs on 7 but cannot pin it soley on that because a colleague has the same problem on his laptop despite his running on vista and hes only had his dongle since july. if you need the "Phone number" for your dongle, remove you sim card and insert it in an orange o unlocked phone and it should show you just like a normal mobile number, you might want to try and use the net on your mobile to check but im sure its software problem.

Hi, I had the same problem after some windows updates. I am using 7 utimate on a 64 bit Toshiba. After trying everthing I know including removing all the entries in the reg. and searching the web I took my PC to an Orange shop. What do you know thay know of the problem and had a 64 bit Mobile partner that when installed worked like a dream. Suggest you go to your supplier and get an update driver and visual display.

Solution

Each time Internet Everywhere is started it installs a Microsoft 6to4 adapter. After about 35 uses it will not work.
Solution;
Remove Dongle
Click Start
Right click Computer
Click Manage
Click Device Manager
Click View then Show Hidden Devices
Right Click each Microsoft 6to4 Adapter and delete Do this for all Microsoft 6to4 Adapters ( You have to do them one at a time)
Re-insert dongle and hey presto it works.
