Question

Internet connectivity

Feb 20, 2016 9:19AM PST

Am a new 'smart tv' owner - the Samsung set is working fine except that we're unable to connect directly to the internet (our PC connectivity is a-ok). Coding on back of the tv set is: model #UN55J6200AFXZA, version US02, s/n 04K73CAH110914A. Please advise - thanks!

Who is your ISP and how are you trying to connect? Wirelessly or wired? If wirelessly, try using a wired (ethernet) connection instead. Works much better typically.

Or is this some sort of settings issue? Have you tried changing the DNS at all?

Answer
As noted. Try the DNS.

Try 8.8.8.8 and have Samsung confirm your firmware is current.

Our provider is Comcast and it's a wireless setup. We can't really do a wired configuration given the location of the tv (lower level, no drop ceiling thru which to connect to the router located on the upper floor). My husband is familiar w/ DNS - says the problem is he can 'see' the router on the tv and can 'see' the tv on the router but we're still not connected to the internet. Given this, is there a specific change to the DNS we should try? I hope this extra info is helpful - thanks for responding!
