Internet Connectivity Problem

by Jan Goldsmith / November 22, 2009 1:36 AM PST

Windows 7: HP Laptop Model G60-530US: Hard wired Internet Connection DSL Verizon:

Just bought the above new laptop. After connecting to Internet, the screen periodically flicks back to the desktop and then, most often, returns on its own back to the Internet site that it had previously been on. On some rare occasions, when it goes back to the desktop it totally disconnects from the Internet.

Does anyone have a similar problem? Have you been able to correct it? If so, what have you done to alleviate the problem?

And the only thing I can offer is I immediately kicked Norton out as well as installed some non-MSFT browser. I never see the issue you have reported.

Are you using IE8?

If so, I know they have a good outreach team similar to ours that might be able to help out.

I'm not thinking that it's exactly an OS issue.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
