My sister gave my mom her old comp..its and upgrade trust me. here is what it has

Win98 plus
512 mem
444 proc..i am pretty sure thats what they said
floppy 2 cd burners

Here is where the problem is....It wont detect the ethernet card I put in. Even though I have installed the driver for it it says there isnt any. It detects the 56 k modem ( my sis was slow on updating) when i try to change the connection through the will only read the modem. It does show the ether as being in there but as an unknown device. HElP

The other problem is....Mom wants her info from the old 95..on the new system..stuff like games, email stuff like that. Can and how can it be done?

Any help would be apriciated.

Did you unplug the computer from the wall when you installed the ethernet card?

If the computer is old enough (i.e. the motherboard) updating the BIOS would be a good idea. Older machines couldn't handle LAN cards until this is done (especially wireless).

and life goes on...

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
