Internet connection to Panasonic Viera TV

I connected a new Router and now I cannot connect the internet to my Viera TV. I deleted the old wireless network, the TV is paired to my laptop, and I've followed the Viera directions to connect to the internet: menu, then network setup. the network is grayed out and doesn't allow access; just keeps saying it is not found. the directions on youtube says it should search and find wireless networks. the usb port is good as is the wireless connector; I had tv internet up until the router was installed. (our wireless is available throughout the house so I know the signal is there)
I tried a new wireless connector and it still didn't work.
any help appreciated.

WiFi routers have channels.

Why I ask is once in a while I find a router on Channel 14. Here that may not work.

Also, my Viera didn't need to be paired to my laptop.
