Question

Internet Connection through Router

Hello
I have an office with 30 users. The type of business we do require an internet connection. Without the internet we can not work.
Recently I notice the internet will go down on host computers but re-powering the Router after 15 seconds would bring the internet back up on the host computers.
This would happen about 3 times daily.

However when host computers cannot access the internet the lights(green) on the Router indicates it is getting the internet connection ; WAN from ISP. Also on host computer's the network/ethernet status indicates there is an Internet connection.

We recently replaced the router a Dlink 615 with a business class CISCO RV082

This didn't solve anything

Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a business class ISP connection?

Some if not all come with an uptime warranty. And you don't use your own router since the provider must get you some 99%+ uptime.

The CISCO RV082 DUAL WAN ROUTER
There are 2 different ISP connections one speed is 18mbps and the other is 16mbps. We are currently utilizing the Load Balancing feature that the CISCO Router has in it. Also the CISCO RV082 Router has a log that I review each time the connection goes out and it does not indicate a lost in either one of the WAN the ISP provides.

I am assuming a device on the network may be flooding the network with garbage packets. I tried 'Wireshark' but still have to review the file.

Also I am monitoring the network with 'Advance IP Scanner' to see if there is an intruder on the network doing foolishness

Then you have a warranty issue.

They provide all the gear and a guarantee of uptime which they failed. They need to fix it.

I'd forgo the dual line system and see if a single connection stays up. If so, we're done. But since you have a contract with the service, it's theirs to fix.

NO issue with WAN connection

The log file does not indicate a lost connection from either one of the WAN. I think its an internal network device that is causing this issue

Then it's down to finding that device.

You have two internet connections. Connect one to one router, the other to the other and split the herd up. The problem will be on one side or the other.

Any IT staffer would know this but I don't want to insult anyone. Is this some office that is trying to get by without support staff or service?
