Internet Connection Icon doesn't show in taskbar

Hi,
when i connect to internet i can't see the blinking aka communication icon in taskbar like xp, can anybody know how to enable that please?

Try this.

Right click the Taskbar and select Properties.

Select the "Notification Area" tab, make sure that the "Network" option is selected under System Icons.

Does that display the icon?

all the notification are already on, no network icon

I was able to show the network icons, but it was just plain white unless I clicked on it. Then it shows bars in yellow . . . but I want to just glance at it to see if there's activity (I don't know what purpose that icon serves!). I installed LanLights, and it's super.

Now, e.g., I can see if my Fitbit is automatically uploading my steps qlb!
