Checked the settings on it? Typical IP address to do that would be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.100
You are hardwired direct to the router? Or using wireless device to connect? Both?!
Your symptoms are typical problem of making the connection but not passing the security (WEP, WPA) settings when using wireless. Also typical of having firewalled yourself off from the router, or the router firewalled you off from itself, cutting or restricting your "access" in some manner. Did you set all this up, or did someone else and you are a secondary user? For instance my youngest has time restrictions on when her computer can connect due to firewalled access settings tied to her MAC.
W7 Internet connection
Previously my home computer running W7 home premium connected to the Internet using a telephone cable and worked well. I now have an external WiFi receiver hard wired to a new router and on to the computer.
Following this new installation the Internet was OK as before but the next day after a full restart I cannot open any web pages (Mozilla, Skype or IE) on the computer. The screen indicates there is Internet connection and this is confirmed by full access on my Smart TV.
I have tried several suggested Google search cures (cmd) but to no avail.
I would greatly appreciate any advice from members on a cure for this problem.
