Hello,

eth0 is the first network card. eth1 would be the second and so on.

To Setup For an Internet connection
open a Console window su to root and at the prompt type
"system-config-network" sans quotes. You will need to know your ISP DNS, weather to use DHCP or Static IP, and Gateway address. It may be helpful to tell what kind of connection you are trying to use (i.e dialup,DSL,Cable or ?)This example can be used for most DSL/Cable setups using a network connection.

Hope this helps

Re: What do you mean by number?

What do you mean by number?. The port TCP/IP uses depends on the service you are trying to access. For example Webpage requests use(listens) port 80 to connect to the server, Telnet uses(listens) port 23. The outgoing port I believe is dynamic unless otherwise routed but I am not 100% on that. Maybe someone else can answer that part. More info please.

You do not usually need to "map out ports". What are you trying to do?

Re:

Can you get online now? What is your setup? Where are you putting eth0 as a port?. The first thing you need to do is make sure you can access the Internet. Try to ping a website for example in a condole window what happens when you type "ping www.google.com" sans quotes? If you do not receive a reply that says something to the effect of "64 bytes from 66.102.7.104: icmp_seq=1 ttl=236 time=41.2 ms" than you have not setup your connection correctly? A description of your setup would help. Please include things like cable modem connected to Lynksys Router, Router connected to Fedora Box or how ever you have your setup.
