Internet Access through IPAQ

Apr 7, 2005 11:50PM PDT

I have an HP IPAQ Pocket PC thats bluetooth enabled. How can I set up my IPAQ to work with my wireless router at home so that I can browse the internet from it? I have been wondering this for quite a while but none of my peers have been able to help me.
Thanks

May not be able to help. Here's why.

While I own a RX3115 with the latest firmware and a Toshiba 805 that I need to update it's firmware, not a detail about your make/model/OS was revealed.

I could compare notes about my setup, but I don't know if there is anything our setups have in common.

Can I ask why you didn't follow the instruction in red letters that read "Note: If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem."? You don't have to answer that, but if you want help, do fill in the blank spots.

This worked for me

After spending houurs trying everything,(someone Linksys even told me my router was incompatible)I did what I should have done in the first place. I powered off the iPaq and reset the Linksys wireless router AND powered off the modem. Then I turned on the modem and the iPaq. Then it worked.

If your iPaq is Bluetooth & WiFI enabled and you have a wireless(WiFi) network. You should be able to connect to the Internet. This is my configurations also.
Just shut off Bluetooth and WiFi on your iPAQ. Unplug your wireless router for 15 seconds. Plug your router back in and wait until it sycronizes(all lights are green), then turn on the WiFi on your iPAQ, when the blue light blinks you are on. After you go through this unplug/plug-in garbage once, you do not have to do it again, just turn your iPAQ on and off, with WiFi enabled/disabled. If you only have Bluetooth on your iPAQ I am not sure how to connect to the Internet unless maybe if your router is Bluetooth enabled. Then I would guess there would have to be some PAIRING done between your iPAQ and router. Hope this helps.
