Since it's Vista I'm going to bet the drive is SATA connected. Look on newegg.com and geeks.com for a SATA USB ENCLOSURE.
If it's a temporary deal, I have one of these -> http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=2020&cat=HDD
Tip: For XP I didn't use the driver on the CD.
Tip #2: Type XP TAKE OWNERSHIP at google.com
I have a Dell Dimension E521 desktop running VISTA that will not start (now trying with Dell tech support, but likely is a motherboard failure). Since I also have a lap top (running XP), I would like to try to take the internal hard disk from the desktop and put it in a case and use as an external hard disk with the machine running XP?
Any advice on whether this is possible would be very helpful.
