Something else.
Boot up a copy of GPARTED (see google) to try to delete partitions on this drive then leave it blank. Back to Windows and try creating a single partition then format it in Disk Management.
If the drive is OK, that will work.
Just built myself a pc, Asus Z170 motherboard, core I5 6600k cpu, 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair memory, Samsung 850evo 250GB ssd boot drive and Samsung Spinpoint 1TB storage drive, Windows 7 64bit o/s.
Works just fine except I can't see the storage drive unless I open Disk Management where it is shown as Disk 1 Unknown, "not initialised", when I click Initialise it then states Data error (cyclic redundancy check), in properties its listed as Intel Raid 0 volume SCSI device, don't know if this is the problem or how to cure it?
Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
