Like an idiot, I forgot to include system basics:
Acer Laptop Aspire
Intel Core i5 5200U (2.20 GHz) 8 GB
Windows 10 Home
Problem: Ever since a Windows 10 update (I forget which one) my internal mic stops working after my laptop has running for a bit. The timing is fairly random. Almost every time the mic has stopped working when I am actively using it, not after the laptop has been through a sleep mode. A reset typically fixes the mic, but not always.
Attempted Fixes: I have tried to disable/enable the mic in "Sound - Recording" as well as toggle the "default communication device" back and forth.
I have also tried going on a Task Manage killing spree and shutting down every program/process I am permitted without a restart.
Other notes: perhaps it's worth noting my task bar occasionally glitches and stops working. Sometimes this requires a restart, other times, for some reason, closing Cortana fixes the problem.
