internal error 2762 when trying to uninstall software

by rawlins02 / April 6, 2011 1:16 AM PDT

PC running XP. When trying to uninstall SimaPlot using the uninstall utility, a popup appears saying Internal Error 2762. I've searched for a solution and noted lots of diverse suggestions. No straightforward answer. Anyone familiar with how to get around this error? A colleague suggested there may be a another way to uninstall SigmaPlot (?)

Does the makers of this SimaPlot have any answers for this?

If not, two possible options;

1] Reboot into Safe Mode and try uninstalling from there, or

2] Try the Freeware version of Revo Uninstaller

An alternative to Revo Uninstaller, CCleaner from http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner . It also has an Uninstaller section.

Mark:

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried to contact SigmaPlot help line but got no answer. The person using the machine (I'm tech help) has found a work-around. In a few weeks we will likely install a new OS, as the machine is overloaded with old, outdated software.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
