Answer
I find folk in general today dislike optical burning.

They feel it's too technical, slow and upset at how much time and research you need to invest to create media that (might) work in CD/DVD/BD players.

I've had a few players and installed some thousand over the years. Why not this model?

As to Nero, you have to check what version you have

And see if they document this recorder.

Because of issues with software I always buy my BDRW with a bundled recording app. I have used so many recording apps over the years that it doesn't matter to me if it's Nero or something else. Just gimme the app and I'm done.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/pc/1292123011/ref=pd_zg_hrsr_pc_1_4_last has the model you noted on the front page at #15 but another in position 6. If I was shopping I'd have to compare those 2.

And Nero doesn't list drives like they used to. I cautioned this because old versions had issues with newer drives. In your case, the Nero is current so I don't think you'll have a device problem.

BTW since I've moved to laptops years ago my current BDRW is the steal of the day from CNET Cheapskate a while back. It's the Buffalo MediaStation 6x Portable BDXL Blu-Ray Writer (BRXL-PC6U2B) which came bundled with BD authoring and writing software. Also BD Player software which can cost as much as a drive. It was $57.24 to my door.
