Intermittent wireless capability

I have a Gateway ML6732 laptop which is about 1.5 yrs old and I run Vista HP (or it runs me !) I mostly depend on "hot spots" for internet use , primarily RoadRunner with whom (?) I have an account . One spot I use alot has a very strong signal which is always present , but lately, I cant hookup to RR or any other sig , even when I can see the sigs are present and strong . I try all of the diagnostics and repairs , reseting network adaptor , etc. and get a notice "this computer has limited or no connectivity ".This occurs off and on , one day it works , the next day it wont .Could my net adaptor be outdated or ? Any ideas ? Thanks in advance for any HELP !!!

Many are locking down their hotspots.

You didn't tell if you asked the hotspot owner about changes to their system.

Good idea Bob ...

But there's really no one on the premises to ask .

Then what next?

Go try another wifi hotspot that has some folk to ask.

I know there are some that use wifi spots as they find them but nothing here says it's this machine's problem yet.

(NT) Thanks BOB
