And it gets the usual 1st of the month canned air cleaning. It's still a hot laptop. Heat ages parts so if you are not having issues with other networks you either change the router, try different router settings or consider some USB WiFi dongle.
I have an HP Pavilion Dv7 Notebook (yes kinda old about 5 years) PC and running Windows 10
Ok, so my laptop has gradually developed intermittent wifi connection issues to my home network. My tablet and phone have no issues connecting to my wifi. Often it won't connect or when it does it's like 1987 dial up and super choked. Here's what I've tried:
..taken it to other locations and it connects no problem to other wifi networks
...run iolo system mechanic to look for viruses..clear
...upgraded from windows 7 to 10
... got a new modem
...set up a new network on my wifi router (airport extreme)
...tried a new wifi router
...uninstalled McAfee and now using Windows Defender instead
...I seem to get some success when I hard wire it in to the network, surf for a bit, then shut down laptop and reset my modem/router and I can get wifi to work for an evening. Usually by the next morning, it's not working again.
I really don't want to get a new computer..help me!
thanks
