Interference lines on TV not always from an external source

by plyrep / July 25, 2009 10:51 PM PDT

I bought a 46" full HD Samsung LCD TV about 16 months ago, thank goodness it came with a 3 year warranty. After about 13 months, lines started appearing on the screen. When I contacted Samsung, the first repairer they recommended replaced the LCD screen....after 10 minutes on at home..lines again!Rang the repairer, after another week of no TV, they said there was no problem. They said it must be interference from an external source.I tried removal of all cables, moved the TV to another electrical grid and asked the neighbours about their electrical equipment.(yes the repairer inferred maybe the neighbours were the culprits)!! I told them to check the LVDC cable as I had read a post here relating to a similar problem. He scoffed and said there was no way it could be that, and anyway they can't check everything!(hard to believe but true). The second repairer Samsung recommended was friendly, prompt and very efficient. The TV was returned in 3 working days and hasn't missed a beat!Yes it was that $30 cable!!I have links to pics of the problem below:(copy and paste into browser)
