Interesting observation re: Spyware Guard

Mar 9, 2004 11:53PM PST

System: Win98 ver 4.10.1998
IE5.01 SP2
OE5.5

Security: NAV2003 (primary - real time)
ETrust EZ (backup AV)
Fprot for DOS (backup AV)
ZA4.5.538.001
AdAware6.0 (on-demand)
Spybot S&D1.2 (on-demand)

I dl'd and installed SpyWare Guard (all options enabled)with the following results:

The DOS command 'start/w (path)' ceased to function. (I front end a large number of my programs with a batch file)

When I place the cursor over the connection icon in the systray, no longer get the pop-up 'xxxx received, xxxxx sent, @xxxxx bps) ?????!!

Uninstalled SpyWare Guard and all is well. Must be an incompatability somewhere but I have no idea which programs aren't 'playing nice'.

Any ideas?

Hi William.

I have sent an e-mail to Javacool - hopefully he finds time to reply here.
