Perhaps you've seen, or at least pictures of a peacock on full display.....

Chance and I found a couple of feathers in the grass while on a walk. Up close the iridescence of the colors is even more impressive. Here is a picture of the top 12 inches of 30 inch feathers. The individual "strings" on the lower side of the quill are bright iridescent blue and green, depending on which angle you look.

The jpg file name for the picture of the feathers was "ostrich feather 1"

Did you have more than one kind of bird? Or are you getting absent minded like I am?

Don't know where the ostrich thing came from. Noticed it "after" I loaded it onto the server, and didn't care to spend the time downloading and renaming and reloading.

We do have ostriches around also.
