Any app I don't use in a month is removed. Be brutal. You'll find that the machine is a bit more stable and may get more battery time.

Bob, thank you for your advise. You may be right, when I used default launcher, the device is faster. But I think it is just a try! It does not matter!

It gets personal.

My view on this is to make the thing run on battery as long as possible and get what I want done. I opted for the biggest battery I could find and if it's sitting there with all but the cell phone turned off it can go over a week without a charge. This seems to confound those that can't get a day without a boost.

Many thanks for the List of Android Launchers, Bob! I'd like to ask you another question: have you ever heard of Mobo Launcher that someone else recommend it to me? I once used a player named Mobo Player. It is nice. I wonder if they are released by same developer?

Looked. Didn't see any reason to load it.

It looks to be an attempt to bring that 3D spin idea to the Android. Again, this is all about what you want.

I want to keep the battery times at near a week and keep away from ad-supported apps for the reason given.

Pick your goals and go for them. I did.
