Intelli Studio - cannot check update?

by loni711 / July 5, 2010 5:37 AM PDT

Hi!

"Cannot check update due to the network error" is message from Intelli studio when I try to update.
I have new Samsung hmx R10 camcorder and before few days update works, now after I uninstal and reinstall Intelli Studio, update don't work.

I install software on another computer (Laptop) and there is same message again. Program and installation work in basic 1.0 version , but no more update.

Is it possible that software in camcorder became corupted, or update now don't work for 1.0...versions?

Please help...

loni711,

I'm looking to see if there's an update that has been released since 1.0. If so, I'll try to figure out how to get it to you. Happy

I too would like to know why this isn't working. I am trying to run this software on Windows 7 with issues. I have read that an update fixes these issues, but I cannot connect to the update server. I have tried this from different PC's in different locations all with the same network error. Is there anywhere to download a standalone update?

No official download,
did you install the program on your computer(s) before you tried to update?

Install

Yes I did. This is the first time I have needed the software since installing Windows 7, so I plugged up the camera, installed the software and tried to convert a video. Crashed every time. So I tried the update and it failed due to the network error. I have read that the newer versions work with Windows 7.

I am receiving the same message. I initially loaded the program off my camera hmx-h100 onto a machine running Win XP and installed the update successfully. Now that I got a new editing workstation with Windows 7, the update will not work. The update is crucial as it gives you the option of exporting to WMV at full HD 1920x1080. Without the update I can only export to 1280x720. I am using this footage to edit together with other HD cameras, so I need the footage to be 1920x1080. Please let me know when you guys figure out a patch or something. Seems to me that Windows 7 compatibility is the problem!

Afther web research, my opinion is that it could be two things:

a - Samsung make same changes afther last update version, and server no more accept update from older (1.0..) software versions

b - software become corupted in camcorder
(which is less possible - installation looks normal on my Win Xp)

Your right it must be the version of the software that is pre-loaded on all of our cameras. I also, tried it with windows xp and it does the same thing. I hope the Samsung guy comes back with something.

On finding this thread i finally understand that i was not alone in the problem updating Intelli-studio (v1.0.27.1) on my SMX-C10.
On the lead of a changed update server address i capture the packet flow in the failed update process and found two things:
1. The (internally wired) original update server address 211.189.16.147(www.samsungcamera.com) does not work anymore, but
2. It points to the new server address www.samsungimaging.com
With that info i replay the original data request and get

http://www.samsungimaging.com/customer/data/camcorder/setup_100628_21261.exe

as the last (v2.1.26.1) Intelli-studio installer/updater.

For now i installed this in my Win7 computer and it appears to identify and work with my camcorder. Perhaps the friend from Samsung can tell us if there is any problem using this version with our cameras.

Saludos.

As I assumed before, the problem is Samsung's server.
This version (2.1.26.1) normally check for a file update, because it is associated to a new server. When you install the original "camcorder" version (1.0 ...) appears erorr network, because the old server no longer works. Now at least we can do download and use this new one.

I contacted Samsung support several times about it and they had no idea what it is, and now we, as users discover the cause.
Shame for Samsung.

Do you have the option of exporting WMV at 1920x1080 with the version you downloaded from the link?

I'm not at home now but from what I remember it did not give that option, the highest quality wmv was 1280 x 720.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
