Intel Mac and PwrPC with Epson printer

Jun 10, 2009 3:54AM PDT

My wife recently upgraded her G5 to an Intel based Mac with 10.5x. I am running 10.4x on a G5. We used to share access to an Epson Stylus Photo 2200.(I connected thru her G5). Now I can no longer do that. I purchased a firewire 400 and connected directly to the Epson from my G5 in parallel with her connection. My G5 still won't connect (can find the printer). Worse, with the firewire 400 connected it screws up my LaCie backup.

I've sent several emails to Epson with no response whatsoever. I am trying to find a driver that works for a G5 with 10.4x. Their website doesn't seem to offer that.

Can anyone help?

I have my doubts here.

It looks like you were networking over firewire which is a fine idea but something a little too out there to expect support for. Is there any chance of setting a classic ethernet and/or wifi network?

Not many have Firewire support.

you can Daisy Chain firewire connections. Into the external drive, out of the external and into the printer.

Should not have any effect on either device
