Intel i7-920 upgrading from i3

Hi. I have a custom machine that was built for me and I am considering upgrading to this CPU

Intel SLBCH - 2.66Ghz 4.8GT/s 8MB Intel Core i7-920 Quad-Core CPU Processor

The price seems affordable for the type of processor. Has anyone owned this CPU before? I'm looking for experienced opinions, need an expert opinion before I buy it. Would like to know about reliability and price if its worth it. Thanks guys

Doesn't look doable

This is a 4 year old socket 1366 design. Your i3 will likely be 1155. Won't fit.

Step 1

Get the make and model of your mobo.
Go to the maker's site.
Look at the cpu support list.
If the cpu is not on the list..........notta wok.

If the cpu is on the list then you have to consider........bang-for-the-buck.
