Intel i7 4770k core voltage issue

Jul 13, 2014 11:54AM PDT

Hey all, I recently upgraded to the i7 4770k cpu and I am having issues overclock. The problem is I can't Sad when I ran prime95 or intel burn test at stock speeds my voltage jumps all the way up to 1.165 which I think is very high for stock, I tried over clocking to 4.2 and there is no way it's letting me, I keep getting blue screens, do I have a bad cpu?

Answer
No. It's fine.

Overclocking is what it is. 4.2 is so far above the stock 3.9 and it's not guaranteed to do more than 3.9 so you find folk new to overclocking demanding support for well, an unsupported thing.

Everywhere I read they're saying the stock HS fan unit is 'for the birds' so to speak.
