intel i3 vs core2 duo 6600

by natos17 / January 28, 2010 12:34 PM PST

Hey, so i'm buying an inspiron 15 from dell's website and can choose between two laptops which are pretty much the same, except -

one has an intel i3-330m processor (2.13Ghz, 4Threads, 3M cache) and 320gb hard drive and costs $1335 (NZ dollars)

and the other has an intel core2 duo processor (2.20GHz/800 FSB/ 2MB Cache) and 500gb hard drive and costs $1180 (once again kiwi dollars).

I'm pretty keen for a bigger hard drive to store music and videos on, as my current laptop only has 320gb and i'm running out. I'm also far from rich. But I also play some games (oblivion, need for speed etc). Is the new i3 processor really worth the extra NZ$150 and smaller hard drive????

I would be commenting badly. Let me say that without a 3D GPU and 512MB VIDEO RAM no gamer will be happy.

Does this laptop have this?

As to the CPU, tells us the i3 brings back hyperthreading so your dual core shows up as a quad core.

Worth the money.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
