Which T models?

Some have other features such as more cache etc.

Since you can always add ram later and never the CPU (almost every laptop) I always give the nod to the faster CPU to extend the life of the laptop as much as possible.

Now that's a tough one.

Comparing the core 2 to the core duo is full of pitfalls. For this you want to find a benchmark on those 2 laptops and see if that helps. For me the Core 2 Duo always gets the nod since it has some features missing in the Core Duo.

I see a real problem in these units. Many crash hard with those dual hard disks. Be sure you have a support system of backups and how to reinstall this OS. It's harder than your normal system.

core2duo is about 8-10% faster than a core duo at the same clock speed so the T5500 is on par with the T2400. add its 1GB memory advantage and faster video card and the dv9033c is definitely the better choice.
