And why not share the laptops you are looking at. Maybe there are other reasons.

Yes I am a gamer. I have a full custom built desktop that runs most games on full settings but I dont know much about laptop hardware. I was looking at a Voodoo Envy M:152 or an Alienware of some sort. (but ive had horrible Dell customer service experience)

I was also thinking ibuypower.com but my friend ordered a destop there with like everything falling out of the tower so i dont know if i would trust a laptop from there.

Bottomline: I want my computer to be able to run games.. dont care if its high or low settings but I want it to look good as well. I also want want a company brand that has decent customer service. Its mainly going to be used for my programming class because I am going to college soon.

any other suggestions made are gold. Thanks.

High or low settting usually are not the issue with the CPU

That's a GPU selection issue. If you research i buy power you find it's not a great way to go. Why not the "names"?

All are not on my list save Dell.

The reasons are the years of running repair shops and horror stories for the no names. At the office we have Dells up the wazoo and given the service we get I find it hard to believe what I read except that today people expect support for Windows issues.

It appears you are trying to cram a desktop into a laptop. Why not save a grand or more and go with something nice but not from the outermost fringes?

"go with something nice but not from the outermost fringes?"
what do you mean?

I could also explain my situation I had with dell but it wouldnt matter really. Not saying im being accused of a liar but I have no reason to bash dells customer service for no reason.
