Integrated Audio Sound

May 19, 2005 6:21PM PDT

I have a hp dx6100 and recently had to reinstall XP Pro, unfortunately i was unable to find any drivers for the intgrated audio nor for the integrated NIC. I downloaded from Hp the SoundMAX audio drivers as this is what i had previuosly, upon running the driver setup it came up with an error that no drivers were present and to try setup again after rebooting. Device manager still had its yellow ?. Trying to install drivers by searching the web failied to find any drivers. SoundMAX refers everybody to get the drivers of there PC/MOBO manufacturer. MOBO is the HP 09CCh (Sandra 2005 returns Mainboard Model 09CCh)
so that i can listen to music i have installed an intel AC97 driver, When speakers or headphones are plugged in now sound comes from Internal speaker as well. I there anyway i can get the drivers without Removing internal speaker or installing a sound card. Any help with the missing NIC drivers would also be appreciated, have not needed it yet but am about to get broadband, and will then require it active

Cheers

Sometimes....

...you have to delete the existing drivers that windows has allocated before installing new ones - I've notice this particularly with motherboard drivers and integrated components. So if you didn't do so then try it.
BUT first why not try the online diagnostics

For us to help you locate your drivers we would have to know the exact name model and version number of your mobo - try this program it slightly better than Sandra for getting mobo info -

I didn't know HP made motherboards - I would assume compaq made your mobo? - so maybe you can get the drivers from there site.

According to HP site you need a SoundMax Digital AC97 Integrated Audio with Internal Speaker
and specifies the following driver "ADI AC97 Integrated Digital Audio

Thanks followed the link to the site at HP, had different drivers to the one id been ending up at, downloading the audio driver at present. The mobo may be a compaq, don't know that much about mobo's. Will install new driver when it finishes downloading and let you know if it worked

Finished downloading the audio drivers removed other drivers and then installed the new audio drivers everythings working as it should now, just need to find the time to download the NIC drivers.

The link you supplied was different to the page i kept ending up at when going through the HP Drivers and support or whatever it is.

Thanks for your help
