...at the included ''Picture Package'' CD. I am new to using a Digital Camcorder, not actually operating it, as I have used analog ones before, but what to do with the recorded images.. A question:
Are there any third party programs for transferring the movie recorded digitally on a tap to the computer, other than using the one included with ''Picture Package'' ? The problem here, I suppose is ''Tape''. If a CD-RW is used as the recording media, I suppose I would just copy the file over (treating the Camcorder as a removable disk'' ? Will I be able to edit the movie with, e.g. Windows Movie Maker and create a movie more than 10 minutes long(limit for Picture Package ) ? Thanks.

I have been given a handycam model SONY DCR-TRV480E. Seems straight forward to operate. However, I am not able to find instructions(at the Owners Operations Guide booklet) on how to upload the recorded movie to the computer and then to create a video CD of it. I have the supplied USB and Firewire cables. It does brag about how easy it is to create a video DVD if I have a SONY VAIO series computer. I do not have a SONY VAIO. I just want to create a video CD, not a DVD. How do I do it ? Do I need to install a video capture card ? Since the handycam is ''digital'' and not ''analog'', I would think not ?
Thanks.
