Installitation woes

Mar 6, 2006 3:38AM PST

hi i have a pc that was running XP i wanted to put in a new HDD because i bought a new XP disc, wanted everything fresh so installed the HDD(Maxtor 120GB) and was using Max Blast to partition it and i got An error No CD-ROM Found check cable and power and
Error No IDE Device Drivers Found.
It was working before i changed the HDD and I checked the cable and power, seems ok now im at a stand still.
I've been teaching myself a little about PCs and would like not to have to take it in. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Thanks rjc.

from the XP CD??? That will allow you to partition/format etc. If you decide to use FAT 32 it will only allow making a 32 GB partiton max [as many as you want], but with NTFS you can make a much larger partiton as long as it has SP1 on it.

Gee, just think Seagate now owns Maxtor. Wonder if the warranty will go to 5 years as the Seagate drives are.
