Installing XP SP2 in Parallels virtual machine

Jun 9, 2008 3:32PM PDT

Just bought an iMac, installed Parallels, and installed in it my old Windows XP Home Edition from re-installation CD with no problems. However, I must install SP2 in order to run some heavy Windows programs with no Mac equivalent. It would be easy to do with Internet Explorer 7, but it requires SP2 to run. So I'm trying to access the SP2 download with Firefox, but I can't find that update (around August 2004?) for a single computer, only for a network. Can you help me locate it, with exact date and location on the Microsoft Download website? Since I have lots of space, should I also download SP3, or maybe instead of SP2? Where would I find it?
Thank you so much!

SP 2

I use Safari and had no trouble finding a download site for Windows XP SP 2.

You might want to enter that string as a Google search.

MS only offer SP3 as a download.

Network versions should work in the same way as standalone installers.
