"I downloaded the software I need (XP home Oem)".
Windows OS's are not available from download, so I must assume this is a non-genuine copy of Windows, eg a pirate copy.
Discussing pirated versions of software contravenes Forum Policies and so I have locked this discussion. However, I realize that this situation may be different since you say you have the product key from your own computer, so I am seeking advice from the other Moderators about this.
If they agree in these circumstances that this discussion can continue, then it will be unlocked.
Sorry.

I lost the CD which my computer came with, but still have the product key. I downloaded the software I need (XP home Oem) and the product key worked, but while it started installing, it said that there was no hard disk/drive.
I looked on the internet and heard that you need sata drivers? I do not really understand this.
If this helps, I have an Asus P5RD1-V motherboard and it was a custom made Pc.
