i would use FDISK to remove all partitions on the hard drive and rerun the install. the Windows XP setup disk should partition and format the drive for you. note that the XP install will use about 1G for itself. also, i think that 256M is the minimum realistic amount of RAM to have for running XP.

Hello i just got this sony vaio PCV-RX450 with a 4g new hard drive and i ran fdisk to portition and i also formated the dard disk. when i run the xp disk and it loads the files it tells me to restart and remove the boot disk. after i restart the setup win xp cd runs the win xp setup and it says to press f6 if you need third party scsi or raid and then press to run automated system recovery disk (asr) so i dont dont press any keys i just let it run but nothing happens its just a blue screen and says windows setup the hard disk dosent work? thank you.
