1.) Shrink your current hard drive partition and create a second one from that space. GParted is a free utility that can do that.
2.) Install XP to the newly-created partition as you normally would.
3.) Click here for the instructions to make Vista bootable again.

Hi, I wanted to install win xp in my laptop but i do not have any idea how to do it. My laptop model is Compaq Presario V3000. I currently have Win Vista home installed and have only one partition on my hard disk. I have 53.1GB free of space out of 149 GB. What should i do to install both OS in my laptop? I only have recovery disks of my laptop and a Win XP installation disc.
