installing Super Screen Savers Windows 95

Sep 2, 2005 2:54AM PDT

I am attempting to install a screensaver from a Screen Savers CD called Super Screen Savers Collection. I have WINDOWS ME. At the bottom of the CD case it says Windows 95. I don't know how to install cd onto my computer. Could you please explain how to do this?
Thanks,
Becca

Becca, It Depends...

First, because the screen savers are designed for Windows 95, (really OLD), they may, or may not function on Windows ME.

Second, most screen saver CD's come with instructions on how to install their screensavers. Have you read those instructions? (It might be in the form of a booklet or even a "readme" file on the CD itself.)

Some screen savers install by double clicking on the .exe file of the screen saver program. Others ones, simply install by placing the .scr file in the C\Windows\System folder on Windows ME. You'll need to give us some more clues and do some of the research yourself if you're going to want much help from us.

Hope this helps.

As Grif said, these W95 screen savers may not work on your Me machine. But try this.

Put the CD in the CD drive. After a few moments and the CD drive light is no longer flashing, click Start, Run, then Browse. Browse to your CD drive, probably D: and look for a program that says install or setup. If it's there click whichever one is listed. Click Open, then Ok.

If there is no program listed, then the screen savers are all separate and must be moved to your Windows directory. Let us know if you need help doing this.
