I want to know if it's ok to install my anti-virus software (Avast, SuperAntispyware,Malwarebyes), Thunderbird and Firefox on my new computer before I actually hook it up to an internet connection?

Use trusted malware free pgms.

I see nothing wrong with that method. You don't see all of them, maybe one or two until you get the MS updates, installed as well once you connect to the WWW. You can easily go w/o those browsers during the initial PC updates, etc. for a rebuild or build. good luck ------Willy Happy

Preferably, as long as you have the "clean" downloaded installer files on a flash drive or CD, it's actually preferable to install your antivirus, firewalls, antispyware, etc. BEFORE accessing the internet.. Once you're on the net, you can then add any updates to the programs but at least you've got basic protection before "jumping in the water".

Hope this helps.
