Question

installing operating system

Oct 6, 2016 4:37AM PDT

Hi all, new to this forum and could do with some help please.
I have purchased a copy of Windows 7 and installed it on my laptop.
I now am trying to install it on my sons laptop and its telling me that the product key is not valid. The disc is a student and faculty one. Am i wrong in thinking that this should be able to be installed on more than one PC?
Thanks for any help on this one.

Check the license or ask the seller.

Usually it's only for one PC. Only Office comes with versions for more than one, as far as I know.

Those academic "keys" often have to be revoked as folk share the DVD. Also the multi-pack versions of Windows haven't been offered in years, maybe over a decade ago.

So it's either the revoked license or the key was for just one PC.
