Question

Installing older Windows OS over preinstalled Windows 10

Nov 1, 2015 8:01AM PST

I want to know if installing (from disk) Windows Vista on a new computer with pre-installed Windows 10 is possible and, if so, will it function properly?

not here yet

may never show up. Had EBay links to some $30-40 priced Home Premium pre SP1 Upgrade versions which can also install as full versions if

1) you wait the 30 days trial and only THEN enter the product key

2) install it, then reinstall it on top of itself.

Amazon had some used copies too for about the same price, but those will say "no operating system" to bypass an amazon policy, but they do come with the disc, or you can contact the seller direct and ask.

upgrade versions not legit

upgrade versions of vista is not legit without a justifying os installed. win10 does not qualify. you must realize most cheap copies are either oem or upgrades. You must purchase a full retail version of vista. The reality is, if the computer came with win10, it will NOT work with vista without issues.

cannot believe so many here are trying to help violate microsofts licensing rules.

Microsoft did that

They shipped out Vista Upgrade pre SP1 with that capability. Why blame those who without hacking use it as shipped?
