Installing new modem

Have a new modem coming, need to know if I uninstall old modem from devices and do I just take the old modem out and replace it with the new one in the same PCI slot? Win XPSP2, dial up, old Motorola 56 Data fax modem in a 4 year old Dell Dimension destop, New modem is Robotics 56K Faxmodem for Windows model #USR5699B. TIA. Ronnie

The instructions that come with the modem

by US Robotics will give complete instructions. You will have to uninstall prior drivers et al.
